Poor Schwalbach - Individual arrested following stabbing incident on public transportation
A man who stabbed another passenger with a knife after a drunken altercation on a bus in Bad Schwalbach has been apprehended. Authorities in Wiesbaden and West Hesse announced on Monday that the man had been brought before a magistrate on Friday, who ordered his detention. They added that the suspect was being investigated for attempted murder.
It is alleged that the man had made racist comments, deriding the Syrian origin of his 24-year-old victim, prior to the attack. The specifics of what led up to the attack are still being investigated. Initial reports indicated that the suspect was 65 years old, but it has since been confirmed that he is actually 55.
The incident took place during a bus ride on the previous Thursday. According to the suspect, he was arrested at a bus stop using a Taser.
