A 27-year-old cyclist is under suspicion for riding his bike under the influence, crashing into a police car in Würzburg, causing harm to two police officers. As per the police's account, the incident took place on a Thursday evening when the man was weaving erratically on his bike, going the wrong way around a roundabout.

The officers signaled for him to halt, but he momentarily paused before mounting his bike again and making an attempt to flee. The officers managed to catch up to him with their patrol car and stopped right in front of him. Despite having enough room to stop, the man allegedly slammed into the car. He then approached the officers in an aggressive manner. Despite using pepper spray, his hostile behavior persisted.

With backup from other officers, he was eventually subdued despite his resistance. Two officers sustained minor injuries but were able to continue their duties. The police claimed that the 27-year-old's blood alcohol level exceeded 1.0%. A blood sample was taken from him.

The police estimated the damage to their vehicle at approximately 1,500 euros. The 27-year-old is now being investigated by the police, primarily for endangering traffic and assaulting and resisting law enforcement officers.

The police car that the cyclist collided with needed repairs due to the impact. Upon arriving at the scene, additional police officers arrived in their patrol cars.
