Indictment against adolescents following fatal attack on young Ukrainians in Oberhausen
The incident occurred on February 10th at a bus stop in Oberhausen. According to the indictment, the fact that the two victims were Ukrainians was the motive for the attack. A 15-year-old suspect was arrested at home the day after the incident, followed by three alleged accomplices. They were taken into custody.
The Prosecutor's Office is now reportedly charging them with several other crimes before the court, according to the court spokesperson. These crimes, which they allegedly committed in changing compositions since May 2023, include robberies and bodily harm. The court has not yet decided on the admissibility of the indictment and the opening of the main proceedings.
The suspect and his alleged accomplices, all of whom are German youths, are facing a Murder Indictment for their role in the Messerattack at the Oberhausen bus stop, where two Ukrainian victims were targeted due to their nationality. The Public Prosecutor's Office in Germany is also considering additional charges against them for robberies and bodily harm, committed between May 2023 and the present. The admissibility of the initial Indictment and the commencement of the main proceedings are yet to be determined by the court.
