Görlitzer Park - an area of interest. - Incredibly high rate of streetlight malfunctions
In some nearby streets close to the park, areas where drug dealers are usually seen, lantern problems happened quite often during the past year. The Cuvry Street, with 24 lanterns, had a total of 55 fails, Falckenstein Street, with 33 lanterns, had 63 malfunctions, Görlitzer Street, located right next to the park, experienced 98 failures out of its 39 lanterns. On the other hand, Forster Street, with just 9 lanterns, saw 53 failures. However, the Wiener Street, almost free of public drug deals, with 46 lanterns, only suffered one setback throughout the year.
The Senate informed there were routine checks on the lights weekly. They also mentioned that the average time to fix an issue takes around seven days. Additionally, they plan to improve lighting around the park's entrances and exits and change them to modern, dimmable lanterns. Berlin is currently in the process of replacing all old gas lanterns.
