State department warns of phishing emails from compromised account. - Increasing membership count by twofold - No direct nominations in every area.
The Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance aims to double its membership in Thuringia before the year's end. This news was shared by the co-chair of Thuingia's BSW, Steffen Schuetz, on Tuesday in Erfurt. The individuals who are eligible for membership have been determined within the state association itself for about ten days now. Before, these choices were made by the party in Berlin. Formally, there is an option to recommend and the ultimate decision remains in Berlin.
BSW Chairwoman Katja Wolf supplemented that decisions regarding membership would continue to be made in Berlin. "The rate of growth still depends on the decision in Berlin for reasonable reasons," Wolf explained.
Schuetz revealed that several candidates will be accepted immediately following the upcoming party congress scheduled for Saturday. Presently, there are 47 BSW members in Thuringia, and there will be over 100 by the end of the year.
BSW State Manager Tilo Kummer mentioned that the increasing membership count is also related to the desire to nominate candidates directly for the state parliament election. "For that, I need at least three members in each constituency so that I can put forward nominees for the Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance." Wolf clarified that they might not have direct candidates in every constituency.

The Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance is aiming to double its membership in the state of Thuringia before the end of the year, as revealed by the co-chair of Thuingia's BSW, Steffen Schuetz, during a meeting in Erfurt. This decision has been met with cautious optimism from BSW Chairwoman Katja Wolf, who stressed that final decisions regarding membership still lie with the party in Berlin.
In Thuringia, there are currently 47 BSW members, a number set to increase significantly by the end of the year. Tilo Kummer, the BSW State Manager, has highlighted that this surge in membership is partly due to the desire to nominate candidates directly for the state parliament election in Thuringia. However, Wolf clarified that direct candidates may not be feasible in every constituency.
The upcoming party congress on Saturday will see several new members officially accepted into the BSW in Thuringia. The success of these efforts could significantly impact the state election in Thuringia, potentially changing the political landscape.
Meanwhile, in Berlin, political parties are closely monitoring the developments in Thuringia, with some viewing the growth of the Sahra Wagenknecht Alliance as a potential threat or opportunity, depending on their political affiliations.
