Germany's tourism sector persists in expansion. The influx of international travelers, who initially showed apprehension post-Corona pandemic, is also witnessing an uptick once more.

- Increased overnight visitor stays in July

In Germany, there's a surge in tourist overnight stays once more. The Federal Statistical Office reveals that in the initial seven months of the year, accommodations with over ten beds recorded a grand total of 280.5 million nightly stays. Compared to the previous year, this is a 1.9% upward trend. International tourists played a major role in this growth, with an impressive 6.6% boost, resulting in 48.2 million overnight stays.

Post-pandemic, foreign tourists started trickling back cautiously. There was a 1.0% linear increase in German tourists' overnight stays, recording 232.2 million in the first seven months. In the month of July, a notable 57.5 million overnight stays were recorded, marking a 1.0% increase compared to the prior year.

Germany's tourist industry continues to show improvement, with neighboring countries also contributing. In August, France alone recorded a 4.3% rise in overnight stays in German accommodations.

Despite strong performances from other European nations, Germany remains a top destination. Data from Eurostat shows that Germany welcomed the most international tourists among all European Union countries in 2021.
