A firm unveils its latest innovation. - Increased duration for reimbursement of COVID-19 relief loans.

The economic situation in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern will experience more leniency when it comes to repaying higher Corona emergency aid. On Tuesday, the Ministry of Economics' announcement regarding this matter in Schwerin was well-received by the Chambers of Industry and Commerce in the northeast.

The businesses there expressed relief as they discovered that they wouldn't have to repay this support within just two months, which was the initial plan. Instead, they now have a six-month grace period for these interest-free repayments. President of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce in Rostock, Klaus-Jürgen Strupp, explained, "This increased flexibility will allow affected companies a bit more time to breathe."

Undoubtedly, repayments can be a major financial burden for many companies. Although liquidity has slightly improved, it hasn't returned to pre-pandemic levels. In many cases, the effects of the pandemic are still being felt. Moreover, the consequences of Russia's attack on Ukraine have added to these challenges. Initially, support was provided to companies based on estimates to help them during the pandemic as quickly as possible. Now, however, the actual figures must be used for accounting the Corona economic aid to avoid overpayment and return the excess funds to the state.
