Police operation - Incidents at soccer match in Kiel - two injured
Two people were injured in fan clashes surrounding the second division match between Holstein Kiel and Hannover 96 (3:0). As the police announced on Sunday night, there had already been an altercation between around 50 people before kick-off on Saturday afternoon. Two people were injured and treated in hospital. According to the police, four suspects were taken into custody until the end of the match. Several cars were also damaged in the course of the incident. The suspects were taken into custody.
In the stadium itself, pyrotechnics were set off several times during the match, both in the visiting and home blocks. This resulted in damage to property. According to the police, no one was injured. After the end of the match, the police reportedly prevented further clashes between the fans of both teams. A total of nine people were taken into custody during the operations and several charges were filed.
