- Incident following police roadblock evasion results in fatal casualty
In Düsseldorf, a 42-year-old woman met her unfortunate end after an accident. The incident occurred following a police stop, as per reports by the officers. The woman was a passenger in a vehicle that a police patrol attempted to halt. Initially, the 30-year-old driver disregarded the stop signals, but later pulled over with the hazard lights on before unexpectedly speeding up once more.
The woman then sped through multiple red lights at high speeds, managing to outrun the pursuing officers for a short while. The reason behind the accident remains unclear, but the vehicle veered off to the left, colliding with several trees. The impact of the collision was so severe that it left the 42-year-old passenger critically injured, causing her death at the scene despite swift attempts at resuscitation.
The driver was transported to a hospital. Police are currently investigating potential drug and alcohol use, which was subsequently confirmed through a breathalyzer test. It is suspected that the driver does not possess a legitimate driver's license.
