- In Verl, the 1-to-1 match ends with no triumph for Waldhof Mannheim

SV Waldhof Mannheim continues to struggle after the third round of the 3. Bundesliga, failing to secure a win. However, a draw against SC Verl in a 1:1 (1:0) match marked their first point of the season. Felix Lohkemper scored for Waldhof in the 15th minute, capitalizing on a cross from Kennedy Okpala. Despite having the upper hand throughout the game, the Ostwestfalen hosts missed numerous clear opportunities for a goal. Chilohem Onuoha leveled the score in the 80th minute for Verl.

Coach Marco Antwerpen had urged his team to exhibit confidence, optimism, and determination before the match. In the initial phase, they followed through with their duties by pressuring Verl high and causing trouble for them. However, as the game wore on, Mannheim retreated, limiting their chances of snagging another goal. On the other hand, they were fortunate that Verl missed their chances – until the 80th minute.

Despite being in the Third League, Coach Antwerpen's expectations for SV Waldhof Mannheim's performance remained high. Regardless of their third-round struggles, they showed promise against SC Verl, maintaining possession for most of the game.
