- In the Rhine river, the missing women have been discovered as deceased.

Around two weeks following the unearthing of two bodies of water on the High Rhine, authorities have verified the identities of the deceased individuals, as per law enforcement communiqués. The unfortunate individuals are two females, 15 and 29 years old, who perished in the Rhine at Hohentengen in the Waldshut district during the initial weeks of August. Genetic analyses were performed to ascertain the women's identities.

Initial police communiqués disclosed that the two inexperienced swimmers had waded too far into the Rhine, misplaced their footing, and were swept away by the current. Subsequently, police and rescue personnel from both Germany and Switzerland initiated a search for the two females. Diving teams, rescue helicopters, and drones were all enlisted in the operation.

Three days following the tragedy, the body of the 15-year-old was recovered. The following day, an employee from the hydropower plant in Küssaberg's Reckingen district discovered the second woman's body trapped within a filter screen. Consequently, the rescue mission was terminated. The towns of Hohentengen and Küssaberg, although eight kilometers apart, are geographically situated in the southernmost region of Germany, along the border with Switzerland.

The bodies of the two women were found in the High Rhine, where the tragic incident occurred. The authorities conducted their investigations and identification process along the High Rhine, where the High Rhine serves as a significant landmark.
