- In the initial half of the year, Thuringia recorded a tragic toll of 36 fatalities on its roads.

During the initial six months of the current year, there's been a notable reduction in road-related fatalities in Thuringia. The Statistical Office has reported that merely 36 individuals lost their lives in traffic accidents in the state, which is a 16-person drop compared to the same period in 2023. Furthermore, the total number of accidents lowered by 108, now standing at 24,207. Consequently, approximately 3,515 people ended up injured, a decrease of 287 compared to the initial half of the last year.

The state government has attributed this significant improvement in road safety to its focus on enhancing Transport and telecommunications infrastructure, such as installing more traffic signal systems and improving mobile network coverage for emergency services. Additionally, the reduction in traffic accidents has led to less strain on the state's emergency health services, resulting in faster response times for non-traffic-related incidents.
