A notable change occurred as Poland took the fourth position, displacing China from the list of top export destinations.
As for imports, China remained consistent, contributing 73.5 billion euros, just like before. The Netherlands and the United States took the second and third places, respectively.
The worth of exports surpassed that of imports, creating a trade surplus of a significant 138.8 billion euros. This surplus represented a notable increase of approximately 29% compared to the first half of 2023.
The USA continued to be the primary destination for Germany's exports in the first half of the year, accounting for 80.7 billion euros worth of exports. Despite a slight drop in exports of machinery and chemical products, Germany's total exports still reached 801.7 billion euros, demonstrating strong performance in exports sectors such as automobiles and auto components.
