Sports enthusiasts, get ready for an exhilarating game of basketball! - In the future, Oldenburg's basketball players will play without Ebuka Izundu.
EWE Baskets Oldenburg, a team in Germany's Basketball Bundesliga, will head into the upcoming season without their center, Ebuka Izundu. The club made this announcement over the weekend, revealing that the 27-year-old Nigerian player has used an option in his contract that runs until 2025. This means he can now join a different team by paying a release fee.
"We would have loved for Ebuka to keep playing for the EWE Baskets," said their sports director, Srdjan Klaric. "Given how he improved throughout the season, his departure is going to be a big loss for us."
The Oldenburgers didn't perform well in the regular season, finishing in 9th place. They were also knocked out in the Play-Ins by Hamburg's Veolia Towers.
