The AfD came close to securing the top spot in Saxony's election results. Although experiencing some degree of disappointment, the state chapter considers itself reinforced and proposes a bargain to the CDU, delivering a cautionary note.

- In Saxony, the head of the AfD, Urban, issues a cautionary statement against manipulation in elections.

The Alternative for Germany (AfD)'s state leader, Jörg Urban, subtly hinted that the Saxon Christian Democratic Union (CDU) should work together and avoid conducting politics against the voters' wishes. He made these comments during the AfD's state election review in Berlin, stating that the previous coalition of CDU, SPD, and Greens no longer holds a majority. Over 60% of voters opted for the AfD or CDU, he noted, with a hint of caution, "We'll see how things unfold."

The AfD is now recognized as a voice of the people on matters such as asylum, internal security, and crime, as well as in sectors like the economy, employment, and location policy. "We're moving forward with discussions," Urban stated, open to engaging anyone in the state parliament ready to contribute positively to the state.

Urban admitted that AfD's election results in Saxony were lower than anticipated, despite facing significant opposition. He considered AfD as a firmly established people's party, with over half the votes casting their choice out of conviction. However, the state office for the protection of the constitution has classified AfD in Saxony as securely right-wing extremist.

AfD's federal spokesperson, Tino Chrupalla, directly accused Saxony's Minister President Michael Kretschmer (CDU) of using AfD platforms for his election campaign, labeling him as a "copyright infringer" and "free rider." Chrupalla asserted that Kretschmer's popularity was the reason for AfD not emerging as the strongest force, stating that "He'll only be able to implement them with us now." The voters, according to Chrupalla, are demanding political change.

The Commission might find the AfD's shift towards becoming a voice of the people on various issues, as mentioned by Jörg Urban, noteworthy in their future proposals. Following Urban's call for constructive discussions, the CDU could potentially consider collaborating with the AfD in areas where they share common goals.
