In Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the number of unemployed individuals decreased by 2,000 in May, compared to April, bringing the total to 62,700. This marked a 0.3% drop in unemployment rate, which currently stands at 7.6%. This information was shared by the Regional Directorate North of the Federal Employment Agency in Kiel on Tuesday. Interestingly, a year ago, the unemployment rate in May was 7.7%.

Thomas Letixerant from the Regional Directorate North stated, "Despite the tough economic conditions, this is an impressive development that demonstrates that local companies are looking to hire workers and skilled labor in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern." The Federal Employment Agency obtained these statistics from data available up to May 23rd.
