Vibrant - In celebration of the zoo's anniversary, the Berlin panda is treated to an ice cream cake.
The zoo reaches its 180th birthday on August 1st, and nearby festivities are in the works. To commence the anniversary year, the Branitzer Tree University generously contributed a beech tree to the zoo, which was planted on a Monday. This tree is able to withstand intense heat and drought, and it's also remarkably cold-resistant. The zoo commented, "This makes it the perfect climate tree for our region." In total, the zoo boasts 2,800 trees.
