Conference League - In Aberdeen: Toppmöller demands maximum motivation

Eintracht Frankfurt coach Dino Toppmöller has made a fiery appeal to get his team in the mood for the meaningless final group game in the Conference League at Aberdeen FC. "We want to keep winning games and not rest on our laurels and pat ourselves on the back for our success against Bayern. We've been praised enough for that now," said Toppmöller ahead of the clash with the Scots on Thursday (18:45/RTL+) and demanded: "We want to deliver several games like this in a season."

Although it is already clear that the Hessians will finish second in their group in the competition and will face a third-placed team from the Europa League in the intermediate round in mid-February, Toppmöller is calling for a similarly committed performance as in the 5:1 win against the record champions from Munich last Saturday.

"The fact that we were highly motivated was great and I'm delighted. But I want to coach a team that is highly motivated in every game. It's important that we know what we're capable of when we show tactical discipline and combine that with emotion and intensity," said the 43-year-old.

The game in Aberdeen is therefore a test of character. "We expect it to get down to business from the very first minute," Toppmöller warned against the combative Scots. Despite some personnel changes, however, he promised: "We are really looking forward to the game and want to put in another energetic performance on the pitch."
