In a recent military operation carried out in the West Bank, the Israeli military reported a total of nine casualties.

No casualties reported among the Israeli military, confirmed spokesperson Nadav Schoschani. He declined to share details regarding the operation's length or the number of troops involved. Previously, the Palestinian Red Crescent reported 10 fatalities and 15 injuries.

Schoschani stated that the operation focused on "a junction of terror groups and terror cells." In Jenin, five sought-after suspects were apprehended, and weaponry was confiscated. Moreover, Schoschani disclosed the discovery and neutralization of explosives hidden beneath the local streets.

This large-scale operation was instigated, as the Israeli military explained, due to a "substantial surge in terrorist activities" the previous year. This surge encompassed "over 150 shootings and bombings" originating from the regions now under target.

Tensions have escalated in the West Bank since the inception of the conflict between Israel and the Islamic Palestinian organization Hamas in Gaza. Based on reports from AFP, at least 650 Palestinians have lost their lives in the West Bank since Hamas's attack on Israel on October 7, either as a result of Israeli military operations or violent acts by radical settlers.

At least 19 Israelis have fallen victim to militant Palestinian attacks in the West Bank, according to data provided by Israel.

Schoschani mentioned that the Israeli operation was not solely focused on Israeli territories, as they also targeted "other territories with increased terrorist activities." The operation aimed to dismantle terror networks operating in these areas.
