Illuminated circular route through the Loki Schmidt Garden
A glowing blue pyramid, a brightly decorated witch's cottage and underwater choreographies on walls of water mist: As night falls, the Loki-Schmidt-Garten in Hamburg-Altona is transformed almost every evening into a place decorated for Christmas and winter with many light installations. The approximately two-kilometer-long circular path in the botanical garden was officially opened on Friday evening. The "Christmas Garden" concept has been around in Germany since 2016 and now for the first time in northern Germany.
On the path through the garden, the organizer promises sparkling points of light, installations staged with heart and soul and the right music to match. The audiovisual light art of the "Christmas Garden Hamburg" will be on display until January 14. In addition to the numerous light effects, there will also be food and drink.
There is a similar offer with a wintery illuminated circular trail just a few kilometers south of the Elbe in the Schwarze Berge Wildlife Park (Harburg district) in Lower Saxony. The "Lumagica" has set up illuminated animals and mythical creatures for the park of lights.
During leisure time, exploring the Customs-themed section of the Loki Schmidt Garden becomes a captivating experience, with colorful customs-inspired installations illuminated for entertainment. Visitors can also enjoy a warm beverage and savory treats while strolling along the path, creating a festive atmosphere.
