"Ideally, AI creates new jobs"
Whether you are a private individual, a company or an employee, everyone needs to learn how to use artificial intelligence in the form of various tools. Entrepreneur Teo Pham is convinced of this. The technology is "the new reading and writing", he says in the ntv podcast "So techt Deutschland".
Many people are worried that artificial intelligence could make certain jobs redundant. However, entrepreneur and AI explainer Teo Pham does not believe in scaremongering in this context. "Ideally, AI creates new jobs because there are new jobs, new activities."
Nevertheless, it cannot be denied that companies' needs may change. Payment service provider Klarna, for example, announced a few weeks ago that it did not want to hire any new employees, except in IT, as artificial intelligence could take over many areas of responsibility. Pham also believes that "before we hire new people who work in the same way as in 2021, let's analyze every workflow in our company and see if we can't make it more efficient."
In other words, artificial intelligence can also be used as a tool to complete tasks, for example in marketing or management consulting, with fewer people or much more efficiently. This is why Pham is not a fan of the term artificial intelligence: "The term I like better now is augmented intelligence." In other words, augmented intelligence, to express the fact that AI is ultimately mainly a tool.

In the labor market, concerns about AI taking over jobs persist, but entrepreneur Teo Pham argues that AI can actually create new ones. Companies like Klarna have announced they won't hire new employees except in IT, indicating the potential for AI to take over various responsibilities. However, Pham suggests analyzing workflows first to see if they can be made more efficient with AI, rather than immediately hiring new employees.
