Ice hockey - Ice hockey coach Walker extends his contract in Schwenningen until 2026
The DEL club Schwenninger Wild Wings are planning to continue with ice hockey coach Steve Walker for the next two seasons. The Canadian has extended his contract, which expires at the end of the season, until mid-2026, the sixth-placed team announced on Wednesday. Walker came to Schwenningen last summer from German champions EHC Red Bull Munich. In Munich, he had been assistant to the then head coach Don Jackson for four years.
"The collaboration with Steve Walker was incredibly good right from the start because it was goal- and solution-oriented," said Schwenningen's managing director Stefan Wagner. "Overall, we were able to create a good basis and have a clear idea of how we want to develop the team."
