Railroad - ICE from Brussels to Frankfurt stuck in tunnel for hours

Passengers on an ICE train had to wait in a tunnel in Belgium for around three hours. The ICE 317 express train coming from Brussels had to stop on Sunday evening due to technical difficulties, according to a spokesperson for the Belgian railroad company SNCB. The train, which was actually on its way to Frankfurt, stopped in the Soumagne tunnel at around 6.00 pm. Passengers reported sitting and waiting for hours in a cold train. At around 9 p.m., the ICE was pulled into the Belgian city of Liège, said the SNCB spokesperson. He did not initially provide any further details about the cause of the stop, which lasted several hours.
