Transportation - Hydrogen truck rental company Hylane draws a positive balance

One year after launching its business, hydrogen truck rental company Hylane has emphasized the suitability of fuel cell vehicles for everyday use. The ranges of the trucks have regularly exceeded the manufacturer's specifications of 450 kilometers, the subsidiary of the insurance company DEVK announced in Cologne on Thursday. "Daily mileages of up to 800 kilometers show that even two-shift operation is possible without any problems." Refueling takes place at 15 different filling stations - for example in Neumünster, Hamburg, Nuremberg and in the Rhine-Ruhr area.

The company now rents out 44 trucks. A further 78 vehicles are planned. Most of the company's vehicles come from foreign manufacturers. "It would be desirable for the range of vehicles to increase - especially from German manufacturers," said Hylane.
