Verden - Hunters receive German Commitment Award
The Verden district hunting association has won the German Commitment Award 2023. The nature conservation association received the award in the Audience Award category in Berlin on Tuesday, as the organizers announced. The hunters are involved in biotope conservation and environmental education by creating and preserving habitats for endangered animal and plant species, among other things.
The initiator and sponsor of the German Commitment Award since 2009 has been the Alliance for the Common Good, a coalition of non-profit associations and others. The award is intended to recognize exemplary examples of voluntary commitment. Other awards have gone to winners from Bavaria, Berlin, Hesse, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, North Rhine-Westphalia and Saxony.
