Viktor Orban, Hungary's prime minister, embarked on his journey to Stuttgart Airport following Hungary's thrilling victory over Scotland in the Euro 2024 match the night before.
Luckily, Orban remained unscathed in the accident that occurred during his travel. A police spokesperson confirmed the incident to CNN.
Unfortunately, a 61-year-old police officer suffered critical injuries in the collision and succumbed to his wounds at the hospital, as per the police report. Another officer, aged 27, was also hospitalized with severe injuries.
The accident took place around 11:15 a.m. on a Monday when a 69-year-old BMW driver attempted to navigate onto a road that was closed for the police escort. Apparently, the driver failed to notice the roadblock and hit the motorcycle of the police officer, which caused it to veer towards the motorcycle of another officer due to the impact.
