Firefighters, police, and emergency services in the Karlsruhe area have been on continuous duty due to the storm. The Integrated Control Centre reported: "We have a thousand deployments here." The police had 350 to 400 deployments initially. Particularly in the Bruchsal/Bretten area, many basements have flooded and roads are flooded. According to initial reports from the situation centre in the Baden-Württemberg interior ministry, the focus of evening storm deployments in the southwest region was in Karlsruhe.
Firefighters played a crucial role in the storm-affected areas, conducting numerous firefighting operations to contain any potential fires caused by electrical faults or other sources. Given the extent of the flooding, firefighters also worked to rescue stranded individuals from submerged vehicles or flooded buildings.
