Social affairs - Hundreds of people in need take part in a feast in Bremen

Around a thousand needy people were fed at a charity event in Bremen on Tuesday. Matthias Höllings, one of the organizers of the feast, said. The event was organized by the Dein Festmahl association. Hairdressers also cut people's hair, a vet handed out food for pets and an optician offered eye tests, reported Höllings. People from the public helped with the catering. These included the actor Uwe Rohde, the singer Peter Freudenthaler and the former footballer Ailton. The patron of the event is Mayor Andreas Bovenschulte (SPD).
