Human bones discovered: No evidence of a crime

An unknown person has illegally dumped soil containing human bones in Wannweil (Reutlingen district). The bones are several decades old, the police said on Thursday. Witnesses discovered the human remains in a pile of earth near a tennis court on Saturday.

An investigation has yielded no evidence of a crime. Instead, it is suspected that the excavation could have originated from a formerly used cemetery site. Witnesses were asked to report to the police.

The excavation in Reutlingen, Baden-Württemberg, initially was considered a potential criminal offense, but the subsequent investigation failed to uncover any concrete evidence. Despite this, the police continue to treat the potential use of a formerly used cemetery site as a suspicious event and are urging potential witnesses to come forward and provide information.
