German second division league - HSV's Kuntz justifies aiming for promotion.
The sports director for the second division football team Hamburger SV, Stefan Kuntz, has made his intentions clear, even though the squad for the upcoming season is still being finalized. "We don't know who will stay with us, but I still believe it's acceptable to proclaim our goal of promotion," said the 61-year-old during an interview with Sky TV. "Our aim must be to prepare well for this crucial phase so that we can either win or defend what we might potentially lose."
Kuntz was appointed as the successor to Jonas Boldt at Hamburger SV in May. Boldt had missed the promotion in the previous season.
Kuntz, a former Bundesliga player himself, is still in the adjustment phase. "Sometimes it feels like a pressure cooker, but I expected that. What's intriguing about this place is that everyone says, "If you need anything, I'm here for you"."
