- HSV has introduced two new squad members.

Hamburg's football squad has found a substitute for suspended Mario Vuskovic, who got into trouble due to performance-enhancing substances. The lower-league club secured the services of French central defender Lucas Perrin from Racing Strasbourg as his replacement. The 25-year-old player has agreed to terms on an open-ended contract.

As a second acquisition before the transfer window closed, contestants from Hamburg showcased offensive winger Emir Sahiti from Hajduk Split. The 25-year-old Kosovo national played alongside Vuskovic for the Croatian top team earlier.

On a recent Tuesday, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) disclosed a suspension for doping until 2026 for the Hamburg defender, which impacted the team's final moves on the transfer market.

In response to the acquisition of Lucas, Hamburg's sporting director Stefan Kuntz commented, "We've significantly improved our central defense with the addition of Lucas. Strengthening our defense was one of our primary objectives during this summer's transfer window, taking into account the events concerning Mario Vuskovic."

Despite the suspension of one of their key defenders due to doping allegations in France, Hamburg managed to bolster their defense by recruiting French central defender Lucas Perrin. His arrival from Racing Strasbourg filled the void left by the suspended Mario Vuskovic.
