2nd league - HSV gets desired player Elfadli

With a one-year delay, Hamburg SV have acquired their desired player Daniel Elfadli. The second-tier football club presented the Libyan national player as a new addition on Monday at the training kick-off. The 27-year-old comes from league rival 1. FC Magdeburg and is expected to strengthen the defensive midfield. He traveled with the team and coach Steffen Baumgart to the training camp in Schneverdingen on the same day of the contract signing.

"Daniel has played more than 50 second-league matches in the past two seasons and knows the league well, so he doesn't need a long adaptation period," said professional football director Claus Costa. Last year, HSV tried to sign Elfadli but could not agree on an transfer fee. At the time, Elfadli had a contract until 2025. Hamburg SV made no statements about the contract duration during the signing.

"I wished it for myself last year, but we never let the contact go," said Elfadli. "And I'm so happy to be here at HSV now and to be able to start right away."

Hamburg SDV's new signing, Daniel Elfadli, hails from Saxony-Anhalt, having previously played for 1. FC Magdeburg in the Bundesliga 2. Elfadli's transfer to Hamburg was delayed by a year due to contract negotiations. The Libyan national player expressed his joy at finally joining HSV, having missed the opportunity last year. The desirable addition to the team is expected to bolster Hamburg's defensive midfield, having gained significant experience in the second tier of German soccer.
