HSV Fußball AG: 7.8 million euros profit
Hamburger SV is in better financial shape than it has been for a long time. Compared to the 2021-22 financial year, HSV Fußball AG increased its profit from €1.05 million to €7.8 million, as the second-division club announced on Tuesday. This is by far the AG's best result since the spin-off in 2014. Last year, the AG reported a profit for the first time ever.
AG is also better than ever before in terms of two other key business figures: earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) amounted to €11.2 million (2021/22: €3.9 million), while earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) came in at €24.4 million (2021/22: €12.4 million).
Total turnover climbed from 89 million to 113.8 million euros in the financial year ending June 30. Equity increased from 35 million to 42.8 million euros.
Financial liabilities rose from EUR 41.2 million to EUR 52.9 million due to the EUR 20 million loan for the stadium renovation, also with a view to Euro 2024. However, HSV now has EUR 38.9 million in cash and cash equivalents as a result of the loan (previously EUR 9.8 million). As a result, net liabilities fell from €31.4 million to €14 million. In 2016/17 - HSV's penultimate season in the Bundesliga - the total amounted to €55.3 million.
Hamburger SV's successful performance in Bundesliga 2 has significantly contributed to their improved financial status, as evident in their substantial profit increase from €1.05 million to €7.8 million compared to the previous season. The club's profits have reached an all-time high since their 2014 spin-off, with Soccer enthusiasts and Hamburger SV supporters alike looking forward to potential promotion back to the Bundesliga.
