Nations League - Hrubesch will have to do without Laura Freigang in Wales

The German women's soccer team will have to do without Laura Freigang in their final Nations League group match in Wales on Tuesday. As the German Football Association announced on Sunday, the 25-year-old attacking player from Eintracht Frankfurt is leaving the DFB team early due to groin problems. Interim national coach Horst Hrubesch, who will also be missing central defender Marina Hegering (33) from VfL Wolfsburg in Wales due to a yellow card suspension, has decided not to call up a replacement.

If the DFB team wins against Wales on Tuesday, they will certainly take part in the four-team final tournament of the Nations League at the end of February, in which the other two European places for the Olympic Games in Paris next summer will be allocated. France are already seeded as Olympic hosts.
