If they work in the rescue station office, they take calls from patients, plan and coordinate operations. The titles of emergency medical doctors and paramedics are often used interchangeably.

Since 2014, paramedics are required to complete a full three-year professional training course. In the rescue field, they have the highest qualification without higher education.
