Fire department in action - House fire leads to hospitalization of elderly resident

There was a terrible house fire in Dettingen, District of Reutlingen, where an elderly man suffered from grave carbon monoxide poisoning. Rescuers were called in and they airlifted the 80-year-old man to hospital after finding him inside. This was reported by the police as the fire broke out in the basement on Tuesday morning. A neighbor spotted heavy smoke and quickly ran out, alerting a passersby who notified the fire service. The neighbor too was hospitalized. It's estimated that the damage caused will be around 100,000 euros. The origin of the fire still remains a mystery.
