Migration - Hotel in Bernkastel-Kues can be used as asylum accommodation again
The former Hotel Moselpark in Bernkastel-Kues will be used again as accommodation for asylum applicants starting July 1st. The facility, which underwent renovations, will initially house around 50 people, as the competent supervisory and service direction (ADD) Trier announced on a Wednesday. Long-term, it is planned to accommodate up to maximally 450 people. The Hotel is an annex of the reception center for asylum seekers (AfA) in Hermeskeil (District Trier-Saarburg). Since the end of March, the accommodation has not been used.
In Rhineland-Palatinate, there are currently AfAs in Trier, Speyer, Kusel and Hermeskeil. In addition, there is a property at Hahn Airport and a hotel in Bitburg as annexes. The AfA Bitburg was temporarily closed due to fire safety reasons in mid-May.
