Residents of North Rhine-Westphalia can expect a muggy and hot start to the new week. On Monday, many areas will experience significant heat stress, the German Weather Service (DWD) reported. High temperatures will range between 29 and 34 degrees, with particularly muggy heat expected in the southwestern part of the state.

For Tuesday, the DWD predicts high temperatures between 31 and 35 degrees, around 29 degrees on the mountains. During the day, showers and occasionally strong thunderstorms are expected. Locally, severe weather with heavy rain, hail, and gusty winds can occur.

According to the DWD, showers and thunderstorms may continue into the night towards Wednesday. With just over 20 degrees, it will be a so-called tropical night. On Wednesday, it will likely remain cloudy. Showers and occasionally strong thunderstorms with heavy rain and hail are expected. It will once again be muggy and warm to hot with high temperatures between 26 degrees in the west and 31 degrees in the east, the DWD reports.

Despite the forecast of severe weather on Tuesday, many people in North Rhine-Westphalia still choose to enjoy outdoor activities. The state, known for its beautiful parks and attractions in North Rhine-Westphalia, remains a popular destination for locals and tourists alike.
