Politics - Hospitals and Haasenburg victims occupy state parliament
The financial plight of some clinics is the subject of today's debate in the Brandenburg state parliament in Potsdam. In a motion, the Left Party parliamentary group is calling on the state government to provide immediate aid for the ailing hospitals. In addition, the establishment of a compensation fund for the Haasenburg victims is once again being discussed in the plenary session. Residents are said to have been harassed and humiliated in the homes run by Haasenburg years ago. There was also talk of serious abuse.
Originally, a decision was also to be taken today on the declaration of an emergency situation for taking out new loans. This item was removed from the agenda. Instead, a vote on the emergency is to be held next Wednesday in a special session.
