- Hospital Inquiries - Examinations Conducted against a Medical Practitioner
Due to some irregularities reported in deliveries at Wasserburg am Inn's hospital, the Traunstein public prosecutor's office is currently examining a former chief physician from the gynecology department. As of now, there's a suspicion of negligent homicide and bodily harm in eleven instances, a representative from the public prosecutor's office revealed. Previously, both "Oberbayerisches Volksblatt" and Bayerischer Rundfunk had covered this matter.
The cases revolve around claims that necessary C-sections were neglected. "It's crucial to understand whether the right procedures were followed and all vital aspects were taken into account," the spokesperson explained.
The investigation was initiated by an anonymous complaint. As stated by the public prosecutor's office, the complaint involved allegations of medical missteps related to deliveries at RoMed Clinic Wasserburg. Majority of the allegations from this complaint have been substantiated during witness interviews.
As part of the investigation, rooms at RoMed Clinics in Rosenheim and Wasserburg were searched at the beginning of August. Approximately 200 patient records were reportedly collected. The clinic's management has shown "extremely cooperative" behavior. A spokesperson for RoMed Clinics has promised a statement later during the day.
The investigation into the irregularities at Wasserburg am Inn's hospital is focusing on the gynecology department, where the former chief physician is under scrutiny. The alleged negligence in delivering necessary C-sections has led to suspicions of negligent homicide and bodily harm in eleven cases.
