Honors for Frodeno and basketball world champion

Olympic triathlon champion Jan Frodeno and the German basketball world champions will be honored at the 42nd German Sports Press Ball this Saturday at the Alte Oper in Frankfurt. The 42-year-old Rhinelander will receive the Pegasos Prize in the Sports Legend category. The national basketball team will be honored as Sportsmen with Heart for the rousing games leading up to the World Championship title win.

The winner of the award in the Sports Media category will not be announced until the evening of the ball. With more than 2100 expected guests from politics, media, show business and sport, including numerous international medal winners, the ball is one of the largest of its kind in Germany.

Jan Frodeno, the Olympic triathlon champion, will receive the Pegasos Prize in the Sports Legend category at the 42nd German Sports Press Ball. The German basketball world champions will also be honored at the event, receiving the accolade of Sportsmen with Heart for their inspiring performances leading up to their World Championship title win.
