- Homicide investigation after homeless man fatally attacked
Following the fatal attack on a homeless man at the Bochum Central Station, investigators are now treating the case as murder. The 21-year-old suspect is alleged to have kicked the 38-year-old victim last Friday. The 38-year-old succumbed to his severe injuries on Monday, according to Bochum's chief prosecutor, Andreas Bachmann, who confirmed the reports of WAZ. No motive for the attack has been disclosed.
The suspect was arrested shortly after the incident at the station and has been in custody since. Initially, the charge was attempted murder. However, following the victim's death and the autopsy, the charge has been upgraded to murder, as stated by the chief prosecutor.
The suspect was taken into custody at Bochum Central Station after the attack. Despite receiving medical attention, the victim passed away at a Bochum hospital on Monday.
