- Homicide in Schwabach: Assailant Yet to be Apprehended
A 42-year-old guy got stabbed to death in Middle Franconia after an altercation outside an apartment building. Cops searched the area around the crime scene in Schwabach near Nuremberg on Monday morning with a helicopter and sniffing dogs, but they couldn't catch the mystery killer.
The 42-year-old had wounds on his upper body, along with other injuries, police stated. His 40-year-old wife also got hurt, with cuts on her arms and hands, and was hospitalized. Fortunately, she's not in critical condition, said Michael Konrad, a cop spokesperson.
She's the Main Witness
Investigators think the lady intervened during the attack on her husband. Konrad told the media, "She's our star witness." They want to grill her as soon as they can, but they're not sure when she'll be available, Konrad added.
No weapon has been found yet, according to reports. From the stab and cut marks on the victims, investigators believe a knife was used, Konrad stated. The connection between the attacker and the victim is still a mystery. The time and location of the crime don't hint at a random attack.
Too Late for Help Again
Police received several emergency calls around 4:40 AM on Monday about a heated argument on a parking lot in front of a high-rise apartment building, Konrad said. When cops arrived, the 42-year-old was already lying lifeless on the ground. "Sadly, it was too late for any assistance."
The victim and his wife lived in the area of apartment buildings and row houses near the crime scene, cops discovered. No further details about the victim were provided initially by Konrad. Cops plan to talk to the victim's family and peers to gather information about the potential attacker.
So far, only a general description of the suspect is available, said Konrad. Witnesses spoke of a tall, muscular man wearing a black hoodie. Cops think the fugitive isn't dangerous to others. They're searching for more witnesses who might have seen anything odd around the crime or the suspect's escape.
The attack took place in Middle Franconia, which is adjacent to Bavaria. The suspect, described as tall and muscular, was last seen wearing a black hoodie, and authorities believe he may have fled the area.
