Numerical data analysis - Homes generate more refuse than the typical countrywide statistic.
In Saxony-Anhalt, families create more trash than the country's average. During 2022, 971,000 tons of residential waste were picked up, equating to 444 kilograms for every individual. That's a little over 6 kilograms more than the nationwide average of 438 kilograms.
Out of the 970,000 tons of waste gathered, 421,000 kilograms came from residential and construction waste. This comes down to 193 kilograms of household and construction junk per resident. Yet again, households in Saxony-Anhalt surpassed the national average. The city with the highest amount of household and construction waste per individual was Hamburg (239 kilograms), while Baden-Württemberg had the lowest (133 kilograms).
