Frankfurt am Main - Homeless man trapped in trash compactor: Investigation underway

The homeless man trapped in a garbage compactor in Frankfurt is a 30-year-old man. This was announced by a police spokesperson on Friday at the request of the German Press Agency. The investigation into the case is ongoing. The police were unable to provide any further information about the man's state of health this morning. The 30-year-old was taken to hospital on Thursday with serious injuries.

The waste disposal company FES announced on Thursday that he had presumably laid down to sleep in a container for commercial waste. He was then tipped into the refuse truck with the waste and became trapped in the compactor. The machine was stopped immediately. The rescue by the fire department took two hours due to "complex dismantling work on the vehicle", as the fire department announced on the internet platform X (formerly Twitter).
