Low-tier soccer squad 1. FC Saarbrücken is yet to secure their initial home victory this season. They faced a 2:3 (2:2) loss against FC Ingolstadt in the 3rd matchday. Lukas Fröde (84th minute) sealed the unfortunate defeat for the hosts. Previously, Kai Brünker (26.) and Tim Civeja (45.) managed to even out the early 2-goal advantage of the Bavarians, thanks to Sebastian Grönning (11.) and Marcel Costly (19.).

The first half was lively. Initially, Calogero Rizutto (8.) missed a penalty, and the hosts suffered a double blow, falling 0:2 behind. Despite this, the Saarlanders didn't appear shaken. Saarbrücken strives for victory, Ingolstadt scores again

The FCS wasn't content with the draw and equalized just before half-time. However, the home defense didn't always manage to keep tabs on Ingolstadt's attacking players, leaving the visitors with two excellent opportunities. In the 5th minute of added time, the hosts' aggressive play was thwarted twice by the woodwork.

After the break, Saarbrücken continued their pursuit of the guests' goal. A apparent go-ahead score by Brünker (58.) was ruled out due to an offside position. The FSC pressed on, but Ingolstadt displayed sound defense and secured the decisive final point in the closing stages of regular time. In added time, Simon Stehle's header was cleared off the line. For Rüdiger Ziehl's team, it marked their second defeat at Ludwigspark, following their 0:1 loss to Sandhausen at the beginning.

The following disappointing turn of events saw Saarbrücken striving for victory after the break, but Ingolstadt secured the decisive final point. Despite Brünker's effort to even the score again, his goal was disallowed due to an offside position.

The following match analysis revealed that Saarbrücken performed well, with Brünker playing a crucial role, but their pursuit for initial home victory this season remains elusive, as they have yet to secure it after the 3rd matchday.
