Football sport news update. - Holstein Kiel won't be extending Fridjonsson's contract.

Holmbert Fridjonsson's contract with Holstein Kiel will not be renewed. The team, now promoted to the Bundesliga, made this announcement on Wednesday. Fridjonsson's current deal runs out on June 30. The 31-year-old Icelander appeared in 14 league games for the "Storks" in the previous season, scoring one goal. During the DFB Cup, he found the back of the net twice in two games.

Fridjonsson joined Kiel from Brescia Calcio in Italy in the 2021/22 season, replacing him with a loan transfer to Lilleström SK in Norway. It's unclear at this point which club, if any, Fridjonsson will join next.
