Reserving status - Holiday destinations content with enthusiasm before trip commencement.

Less than three weeks before summer vacation in Lower Saxony and Bremen commences, popular holiday spots near the shore, the Lüneburg Heath, and the Harz Mountains appear optimistic. Tourism companies in these regions reported positive developments based on a survey by the German Press Agency. Already, accommodations in these areas are 90% filled. "In past years, this only happens in August during the heather bloom," says Ulrich von dem Bruch, manager of the Lüneburg Heath GmbH. Hoteliers in the Harz Mountains are hopeful, though they're monitoring the situation carefully. The reason for this caution is the growing trend of travelers making last-minute bookings.

Despite the overwhelming demand, it's still possible to find accommodations at the last minute. "We encourage visitors to make reservations beforehand," suggests a spokesperson for the North Sea Tourism Agency in Wilhelmshaven. The first summer holiday day in Lower Saxony and Bremen falls on June 24th.
