Hoffenheim fears for Stach and Grillitsch
TSG 1889 Hoffenheim will have to improvise in central midfield for the Bundesliga match at Borussia Mönchengladbach. Grischa Prömel will not be involved on Saturday (3.3pm/Sky) due to his yellow card suspension, while Florian Grillitsch and Anton Stach were absent from training during the week due to illness. Head coach Pellegrino Matarazzo said at the press conference on Thursday, however, that "hopefully they can come in today or tomorrow and be an option".
It is also possible that Diadie Samassékou, "someone who has been running under the radar" (Matarazzo), will get another chance. The 27-year-old Mali international returned to the Kraichgau in the summer after a loan spell with Olympiakos Piraeus, but has not yet been able to play his way into the team. Finn Ole Becker is also considered a candidate for the starting eleven.
Despite their illnesses, Hoffenheim is hoping that both Florian Grillitsch and Anton Stach can recover in time to contribute in midfield during the Bundesliga match against Borussia Mönchengladbach. With Grischa Prömel suspended and the duo being unwell, TSG Hoffenheim might need to rely on Diadie Samassékou or Finn Ole Becker in central midfield, as they aim to navigate the fixture without their regular players.
