Hoeneß praises Heidenheim: "Unique in German soccer"

VfB Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeneß describes the sporting promotion of 1. FC Heidenheim to the Bundesliga as a "success story". The Swabians' coach said two days before the clash in Heidenheim on Sunday (17:30/DAZN) that the run of four defeats in competitive matches does not change that. "This is a club that makes a lot out of its resources - in a likeable way and I think it's a unique story in German soccer. But we still want to beat them and make it as difficult as possible for them. We won't be handing out any presents," said the 41-year-old on Friday.

Hoeneß expects an "unpleasant duel". FCH have recently shown particular weaknesses at corner kicks. "I would still rate them highly. But we will try to recognize spaces and create mismatches," he said.

In terms of personnel, there are no changes compared to the 1-0 win against 1. FC Union Berlin after the team reached the last 16 of the DFB Cup. Dan-Axel Zagadou trained without any problems, despite his laceration. Full-back Vagnoman could be back in the squad for the first time this season. Injured top scorer Serhou Guirassy is still missing, but is said to be on target.

VfB Stuttgart will face 1st FC Heidenheim in the Bundesliga, a team Hoeneß praised for being unique in German soccer. Despite their recent struggles, 1st FC Heidenheim has impressively utilized their resources, making for a remarkable tale in German soccer.

Sebastian Hoeneß acknowledges the strengths of 1st FC Heidenheim, especially their ability to recognize spaces and create mismatches, but also highlights their vulnerabilities at corner kicks, implying a challenging match for VfB Stuttgart.
